Lara Stone photographed by Alasdair McLellan for i-D magazine's Whatever the Weather issue Pre-spring 2012
I couldn't resist grabbing i-D magazine's "Whatever the Weather" issue when I spotted it on the newsstand in Grand Central last week (I snagged the last one on the shelf— score). The London-based glossy has been on my reading list for quite some time due to its off-beat editorials and fashion-focused content. As usual, this month's issue was released with several different covers featuring faces like Victoria Beckham and Stella Tennant flashing the signature i-D wink. My favorite was the cover that boasted a squinty-eyed Lara Stone shot by Alasdair McLellan. The accompanying fashion story showcased clothes to wear on a bright, breezy morning in Berlin. Stylist Jonathan Kaye put Lara in nostalgic pieces like a pea-green Chloé baseball jacket and vintage jumper. Pointy pumps and micro mini skirts lend a 90s feel, plus the white t-shirt / schoolboy blazer combo just screams Cher Horowitz. I love how McLellan brought the story to life with his clever use of harsh shadows and vibrant colors. I can practically feel the sunlight hitting my Maison Martin Margiela t-shirted back (okay, more like Hanes).

Cool editorial. Love the white heels. I different look for Lara Stone.
